The St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture has successfully completed it first leg of the ‘Competitiveness Through Linkages Road Show’, held at Juliette’s Lodge, Vieux Fort, on Thursday, September 3rd, 2009.
The Chamber achieved its objective of brining together European Funded (EU) Projects with similar or related objectives, to provide a general overview and benefits of the various Projects to the business community of Vieux Fort and its environs.
The attendees had the opportunity to hear from and interact with representatives from four EU funded projects, namely the Competitiveness through Linkages Project, implemented by the Business Development Unit (BDU) of the St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce; the AGIL Project, which operates from the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC); the SFA 2006 Programme of Assistance for Agriculture in the Windward Islands, implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and the SEQUA Project - Economic Diversification & Private Sector Development Programme.
The business community took full advantage of this opportunity to develop networks and get a clear understanding of the diverse services provided by the Projects and the Projects that could be targeted for specific assistance.
The Competitiveness through Linkages Road Show continues to Soufriere on Thursday, September 17th 2009 at the Still Plantation Resort Restaurant & Bar, La Perle Estate, New Development from 10:30am to 12:30pm. All businesses in the environs of Soufriere, including Canaries and Choiseul are invited.
