Fresh Faces Big Winners at the 4th Annual St. Lucia Business Awards!!

Karib Cable emerged the Business of the Year winner amongst the forty one nominees shortlisted, representing 23 different companies at the 2013 St. Lucia Business Awards.  The gala event took place on January 26, 2013, as the closing event for St. Lucia’s Nobel Laureate week. The           St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce hosted another evening of excellence the fourth consecutive year which was again, broadcasted live by  The Wave 94.5 93.7 FM, and across St. Lucia Barbados and St. Vincent on Choice TV, which was powered by LIME.  Approximately three hundred and twenty formal dressed guests flowed in a steady stream from the Sandals Grande Atlantic Terrace at the 1st National / Landmark Events Welcome Cocktail Reception.

A crowded and exciting Red Carpet was a delight where guests were snatched by the media for live interviews on their way to the ballroom for the official Award Ceremony. Hosted by the quintessential witty Richard Peterkin and Sharon Williams. the audience was once again thoroughly entertained by Mr. Peterkin a past president of The Chamber . The entertainment as expected was a treat to the audience, and included outstanding pieces by talented St. Lucians, in keeping with the Theme for Noble Laureate Week.

Corporate St. Lucia provided full support for the event  and was rewarded with a night fitting of their stature as the “Pillars of Industry and Commerce”. Additionally twelve awards were handed out for successes in various aspects of business operations. The winners for the 2013 St. Lucia Business Awards are:

In addressing the audience on Saturday evening, Committee Chair, Dr. Charmaine Gardner thanked the sponsors for their continued support and applauded the esteemed judges for their continued outstanding work. The respected judges for the 2013 St. Lucia Business Awards were Benjamin Menald, Madam Justice Suzie D’Auvergne, Randy Cato, Techla Deterville, Eldon Mathurin, Andie George, Richard Peterkin and Crispin D’Auvergne.

A rousing tribute was paid to former Chamber President Mr. Laurie Barnard, who was given a Posthumous Lifetime Award. His son Mr. Joey Barnard received the award on the family’s behalf.
