The St. Lucia Youth Business Trust

The St. Lucia Youth Business Trust (SLYBT) is a stimulating project undertaken by the St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture to help the youth ages 18 – 35 years in St. Lucia in fostering the concept of self-employment and the spirit of enterprise. With a focus on entrepreneurial overall development for the youth, the mentoring component will serve as the key ingredient to allow the trust to stand out from other organizations in St Lucia. SLYBT offers a coordinated, comprehensive program to assist young entrepreneurs to develop the skills, attitudes and access resources they need to become successful entrepreneurs.
SLYBT is an initiative of the St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture, launched, November 15th 2011 under the Patronage of Dame Pearlette Louisy, Governor General of St. Lucia. The St. Lucia Youth Business Trust seeks to provide the critical support to young entrepreneurs.
This is the newest initiative of the Chamber as it seeks to continue its work in youth entrepreneurship and ensure that its legacy of excellent corporate social responsibility lives on.
The programme is a private sector initiative made possible through a partnership with the voluntary sector and together provides start-up capital, business mentoring, networking, advisory and marketing support services to encourage a new generation of young St. Lucian entrepreneurs.
