Last year wehosted an extremely successful and insightful HR Connect that brought HR Professionalsfrom Chamber Member Companies together to share information, connect anddiscuss contemporary issues in the field. Unfortunately, we were not able tofollow up and host another event during last year for several reasons.
“Navigatingthe Skills Shortage and Recruitment Challenges in St. Lucia”
The Chamber’srecent Business Performance Surveys again have highlighted the challenges membersface in recruiting appropriately skilled people to fill positions. Concurrentlythe unemployment figures are at the lowest level ever recorded, this is takingplace at a time where economic growth is projected to reach 4.0 % in 2025 froma robust 4.7% in 2024.
How do firmsmanage this situation? What are the strategies being employed to manage in thisenvironment? What has been your experience, how are you adjusting. Are wagesrising, how serious is poaching of staff. What are your recommendations tomitigate this situation.
This is one keyissue that will be discussed at HR Connect.
Also more than ayear has elapsed since our last HR Connect, and we strongly feel that we shouldbring HR Professionals from among our membership together again, to reconnectand build a network among Members of the Chamber that will facilitatecollaboration as you face many common issues as modern HR Leaders.
Additionally, you would have noted that the Chamber has been able to, in its own small way, provide some assistance to members through hosting consortium people development programs in several functional areas over the last few years. These programs have been generally well received primarily because the areas offered have been identified by members. It is thus timely that we meet again to review the Chamber people’s development offerings, revise and refresh them as required by you the members.
You are therefore invited to the Chamber of Commerce “Connecting People Development Leaders through HR Connect” on June 18th from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30p.m. HR Connect will be held at Center where HR Leaders like you, and persons working in that space, will come together to build a coalition of HR Support among Chamber Member Companies - where ideas, insights and experiences can be exchanged ,and collaboration becomes the order-of-the-day under the Chamber HR umbrella.
Please sign up early and enjoy the early bird pricing. Attached is the program for “Connecting People Development Leaders through HR Connect”
