PRESS RELEASE

Chamber’s Inventory & Supply Chain Workshop with Dr. Harvi Millar Delivers High-Impact Learning Experience

The highly anticipated and long called for workshop “Strengthening Your Inventory & Supply Chain Management” took place and lived up to its “excellent and high value billing”. The two-day interactive and practical workshop took place on January 29th and 30th, 2025 at the Chamber Conference Room at the Secretariat Headquarters Bois D’Orange. 23 keen participants from 13 organizations from the public and private sector took a journey through the intricacies, advanced systems and techniques used Fortune 500 firms when managing and seeking to get the best out of their inventory and supply chain systems.

Inventory and supply chain transactions account for up to 60% of business costs, thus proper and efficient management of these processes are critical to achieving and maintaining competitiveness and of course containing costs. The workshop explored key concepts including inventory classification, strategic utilization, supply chain risks, in addition to examining best practice in planning and replenishment. Participants engaged in practical exercises, team-based problem-solving, and discussions on current challenges within their organizations.

The workshop received positive feedback from participants who praised the interactive format, practical applications, and real-world insights shared by the Facilitator. Many attendees highlighted that the session provided immediate actionable takeaways to improve inventory and supply chain operations. Of special note was the team exercises that helped develop actionable solutions tailored to their specific company challenges.

As a Chamber flagship program that has been held over the years this workshop has train a new generation of inventory and supply chain managers and continues to be highly impactful, giving firms a high return on their training investment. Inconsideration of the high number of persons interested in the program, the Chamber has agreed to offer a second session that will be held, at a date to be confirmed with Dr. Millar.

Dr. Millar for his part expressed his gratitude to the Chamber for continuing to give him the opportunity to share his knowledge and experience in a tangible way with the St. Lucia Business Community and pledges to make himself available whenever his busy schedule permits. He noted that this class,“got it” and it was “wonderful” working with them.
